...the Mom is now a true Nerd (according to her).
Earlier this week, she got promoted from being a Library Assistant to being a Librarian. I thought humans needed a special degree for this but the town she works for is so small that anybody can be one.
This is really cool 'cause it means she gets paid lots more money--which means more Stinky Goodness for me--but according to the Mom it also increases her Nerd factor. I have no clue what a Nerd is, but if the Mom is one, it can't be all that bad. She nice, and smart, and knows how to treat me right most of the time (it's not perfect because she keeps bringing in Brats).
The Mom is really happy about this promotion 'cause she seems to really like the job and the people she works with. If she's happy, I'm happy. Just so long as she remembers to give me the daily minimum requirement of attention I need each day. Oh ya, and my Stinky Goodness.

Oh cats don't care about nerds, I don't think so it's all good. I think nerds tend to spend more time and effort on their cats too so it's probably a good thing!
our mommy is a nerd too - and she says she has a cert-i-fa-k-shun to prove it. but we loves her anyway
Yea for yur Momma!!! Ours isn't a nerd, but our Daddy is! He's a computer science major..guess that makes him an uber-nerd.
Good for her! My mama loves books, and even worked in a library at her college when she was there. She says libraries are nice. If they have lots of books, then I live in one, cause we do. Libraries are not for nerds. They are for thinkers!
That is an AWESOME job! Good fur your Mom. Congratulations. That also means she likes to look things up and help people even if it's nerdy. It's a furry respectful position.
I fink my beans is called "geeks". That's kinda like "nerds", right? Oh, I hope the better job doesn't mean she spends more hours AWAY frum home! I mean, more stinky goodness is wonerful, but so is Mom time.
Oh, an tell yur mom to watch fur my boy cuz he goes to the library lotsa days after skool an maybe she'll see him there! Wouldn't that be kewl?
Ayla, I must apologize for Victor's idiocy. OBVIOUSLY our boy doesn't visit your mom's library since you don't lif in Whiskonsin. But I fink you should make SURE yur mom still knows her priorities. Ayla, ofur cats, THEN werk.
My mom says she'd love to be a librarian because she loves books AND cats! Congratulations to your mom and for all your extra food!
Concatulations to the beanmom. Mum says she thoughted about libriarian many years ago, but never wented to school for it.
The Woman is jealous. She would like to be a librarian without going to scool for it. She loves all the books and spends ALOT of time in the library here.
Oh, and Nerds are little candies that people eat. Your Mom is one of them???
Happy news for your Mom. But I thought nerds were computer hogs. Anyway, congratulations on being able to have an abundant supply of treats and stinky goodness.
Congratulations to your Nerd Mommie on her promotion.
Be glad your mommie is a nerd, they usually get paid more money -- i.e., more stinky goodness for you!
o, ayla, i'm so happy fur u havin such a smart Mommie. i made tha 'nnouncement on tha Cat Blogosphere, come see.
Our Grandma was a librarian for many years. First, she worked with the little beans and then she was the boss of the whole library. She liked the work very much, but she says now she couldn't handle all the computer stuff.
She says if you need to know a good local restaurant, always ask in the library or a bookstore.
I think our Mom's a nerd too cuz she works with the computer so much. But she's ok. So it must be ok to be a nerd. As long as she gives you your stinky goodness, that is!
Purrrrrrs,
Mini, Boni, Sanjee, Pepi and Gree
I thought my mom would be a little upset with the "nerd" concern since she has one of those special library degree thingies but she said she embraced her inner-nerdness years ago. She also pointed out that her "library gig" has kept me in stinky goodness and v-e-t care for 18 years so I ought not to make disparaging remarks about it either. But we're all real happy for your mom! Congratulations -- Alberta
