Winter's Finally Here

A lot of you asked how the Mom could get by not putting the winter sheets on the bed until January. Well, here in New Jersey, it hasn't felt like winter. The temperatures had been in the 50s and just the other day the Mom was wearing shorts! Since the Dad is a weird "it's too hot" type of person, the Mom had to wait until she had a good reason to put the winter sheets on: the temperatures are dropping into the teens this week.

I'm dreading the cold weather. These old bones feel the cold pretty badly. The Mom has been keeping the heated kitty bed on every night to help out the Annoying One and Monkee, both of whom are too darn skinny and have no fat whatsoever to keep them warm. What gets me is Bailey, who is way too tubby, loves sleeping on the heated bed too. Doesn't she have enough fat to keep her warm? Geeze. Of course, they make no room for me. Then again, Bailey takes up most of the darn thing anyways. I'm happy right now with the laundry basket since I can bury myself under the clothes. If that doesn't work, I'll crawl under the covers with the Mom at night.

Poor Ayla! It's going to be freezing tomorrow here on the East Coast and I think for sure you should crawl under the covers with your mom! I bet she'd love it, too.

Ya know what you need? Not aheated bed, but a heated throw blanket. It's not as big as a regular electric blanket, but it can be spread on top of a bed and more than one kitty can lounge in wamr luxury without being on top of wach other. I've never had one because my people are cheap and mean, but they had one for the Cat Who Came Before Me. Hank the Dog told me it was wicked awesome, and she loved it a lot. He knew because they let him have it for a few weeks after she went to the Bridge, until he didn't act like he missed her so much he needed it.

Well cripes, now *I* want one! And they're not expensive, I know I saw one online somewhere once for les than $20...

I think you need your very own heated bed Ayla. It's really not fair that you should have to share with a fat cat...

Oh, Ayla, I hope you can find a way to keep warm. You could teleport over here and snuggle with us, but it's been cold here in the desert, too! We may even have snow this weekend (though it likely won't stick around for long).

Ayla, I hope you've gotten to stay warm. The cold is hard on my bro, too, so I can see how difficult it is for some kids. I hope the closing went well. And really, it should be your last move forever and there'll be lots of new places to find!

We haven't had any cold weather this winter yet in London, but we are supposed to be getting it this week. Today was only the 3rd time all winter my mum needed to wear her gloves on the way to work. All the spring flowers are coming up now, they will get a shock if it freezes!
