Oh boy

One of the outside kitties had kittens. Five of them. Well, we think that but there may be more 'cause every time we see them there is a new one.

Personally, I don't mind the outside kitties. Why? They aren't eating my food or annoying me and as long as they stay outside, I can accept their existence. The humans, however, are a different story:

"Oh my...look how adorable they are!" squeals the Mom.
The Dad looks out the door and says "they are cute."
"I don't know if we'll be able to catch them. They seem to be just as skittish as their mom."
"Great. That's all we need are cats number ten, eleven, twelve--"
"--honey," the Mom growls angrily at the Dad.
"Oh you know I'll do nothing to stop you."
The Mom walks away with a smile on her face.

I may be old and grumpy but I'm not stupid. This means one of two things: 1) she will attempt to catch the kittens and "rescue" them. Or 2) she won't catch the kittens and she'll be upset and crying for a kitten. That leads to her and the Dad going to the local shelter and "rescuing" a kitten from there. Either way, this means that by the end of the summer they'll be adding to the throng of Brats I already am tormented by.

It's at times like these I really hate life.

P.S.1. I'm doing fine. My face is really swollen now so I've gotten into this awful habit of drooling on myself.

P.S.2. TAO is doing OK. The Mom took his cone off last night and he's not scratching at his eye. It looks almost healed. They'll be going to the eye doctor on Monday for a follow up.

Uh-oh. More Brats? I hope your Mom does catch the kittens, but finds them new homes with someone else. Is that a possibility? I'm glad that you are still feeling good, but sorry about the drooling. I'm happy for TAO and hope everything goes well at the vet.

Oh Ayla. How will you handle more kitties in the house? There are so many already. I hope if the new ones come they are nice to you.

Hmmm. You need to sit upon a People and drool on them. Copiously. If you have to suffer, you might as well spread that joy a little, you know?

I agree with Karen Jo -- hope your Mom catches the kittens and finds good forever homes for them with someone else. It sure sounds as if you don't need any more Brats to bug you right now.

Max is right too -- drool on your people!

I'm glad TAO is almost healed. Does that mean he's annoying you again?

Ayla, I am glad that you are still feeling good. Try not to worry about the drooling part, OK? Because it is not your fault.

oh Ayla, that's a tough one - we know that 'cause you're sick it would be bad for you to have more brats, but it would be good for the kittens. what a dilema.

Drooling is fine. Just make sure to do it on your humans as much as yourself...!

I AM sorry about the idea of more brats, although I am a big kitten fan. The little ones are easier to torment.

We're glad you and TAO are doing well, but more kittens? Your people sure are nice! Our Lady would love to have a huge feline family, but we're not inclined to approve of new additions either. Well, except for Midnight. She's abnormally friendly.

I hope your mom is able to maybe find nice forever homes for the kitties so that you and they can have more individualized attention.

Hope the vet says Tao's eye is all better.

uh oh, i hope those kittens get rescued to another house. they sure are cute tho. mainly cause they aren't living here. my mommy rescues too and the only reason our house isn't full of cats is cause i have FIV and the VET (the smartest thing she ever said) told mommy when asked that i "am the type of cat who is better off being an only cat." yeah, snort, i don't have that warning on my file for nothing...

as for the drooling, i think your beans should keep a nice soft cloth, warm from the dryer of course, at the ready to put under you mouth when you lay down. make lemonaid.

i'm glad you're feeling good and tao is healing too.

Hi Ayla ... I'm glad you and TAO are both doing okay.

Beans get all silly over kittens, don't they? I've noticed that. Just ignore them.
