New Sleepy Spot

Whenever I'm in the closet, the Mom comes over, pushes aside the clothes, and says "oh there you are" in this sickeningly cute voice. She then pets me on the head and puts the clothes back.

This has to be the most freakin' annoying thing possible.

Then yesterday, I realized why she's doing it. She wants to see me to make sure I'm alright. Ever since my stupid diagnosis, she constantly wants to be around me and is "checking in" on me. So I figured, I need to do something where I'm easily visible (so she won't wake me up) but in a place where I'm still comfortable.

Voila! The cubby hole in the closet:

Now I'm perfectly comfortable sleeping on top of clothes in the closet and yet I'm easily visible so the Mom doesn't have to constantly wake me up.

Get that Mom? Don't wake me up. OK?

P.S. Though you can't see it in this picture, the tumor is on the left side of my face and it's starting to get really big. Otherwise, I'm ok.

Hello Ayla

I completely understand. My human has been doing that to me too for that last YEAR! Imagine that. Ah at least you are clever. I now how stairs to get up onto the bed so she can just look at me--she still disturbs me though.

Have a fine holiday and get some rest.

Why do Moms do that? I know they love us and are "just checking" but why can't they understand how annoying it is to be interrupted while we're enjoying a nice nap?

I hope you're feeling OK even though the stupid tumor is getting bigger.

Our Food Source does that all the time, too. He calls it "counting noses", like there's gonna be a different number of noses in the house each time!

That looks like a nice sleeping spot you've got there. Stay well, OK?

That is a very good idea Ayla. There is nothing worse that being woke up from a great nap! Unless a good treat is involved...
Purrs and hugs to you - nap on!

You are so smart, Ayla. Now your Mom doesn't have to wake you up to check on you. I'm really sorry that your tumor is getting bigger.

People just don't understand. When I was so sick and just wanted to sleep in the closet I had to put up with getting woken up a lot so they could see for themselves I wasn't dead. Well, I'm pretty sure they'd figure it out without waking me up! How would they like it if we woken THEM up 4-5 times a night to make sure THEY'RE still breathing?

Well, ok, we do that anyway, but that's beside the point...

Ayla, mum does that to me too and I don't have a tumor. When she hasn't seen me in a while, she will come find me and make sure I am ok.

An excellent plan, Ayla. It is MOST annoying to be wakened unnecessarily. Also, it will be easier for you to detect cheese and other treats so you can be first in line.

Ayla, YOU ROCK, girl! I have nominated you for a Rockin' Girl Blogger award; stop by my blog for the banner. Purrs!
